Recent purchase of second TD

Hello All,

I recently purchased a second TD at Trustee's sale. A bit of background: I calculated the best case scenario for the balance on the first TD by doing an amortization table based on the recorded first mortgage. I also calculated the likely balance on the first TD by assuming it had a balance equal to the ratio of default on the second. I then did the combined math for the first balance and what I was will to pay to stack in the second. I know that there is risk with this purchase but I feel that I purchased with a margin of safety.

Anyway my specific question is: Because I'm getting some resistance from the first in providing me with the payoff, can somebody please refer me to the law or legal language which requires the lender on the first TD to provide me with the payoff?
